Prince

So, this here would be one of my final minor pieces for my degree year! It has probably been one of the most enjoyable to make because of all the casting processes involved and probably my most simple design to be entered as a final piece (I hope that's a good thing - less is more, surely )


The piece itself was inspired by frogs, and the oddly streamlined and beautiful angles of their bodies. The picture doesn't show it too well, but there is a skin-like texture on the silver 'shell', to add contrast. Contrast is one of the elements that I love to play around with on my jewellery, and here I went all out with the silver and the black, and the red carnelian 'eyes'.


The piece is made from silver-plated copper, carnlians, resin enamel, and a rubber cord, and is about 40mm long, by 25mm wide.
